I finished my 12 session therapy with Cheryl. I took a while to write this review as my mind was swirling around all the beautiful things I could say about Cheryl and the outcome of my therapy. Then I decided to just share it to the point. I contacted Cheryl around Dec 14 last year (2023). I was desperate and didn’t want to live another day. Diagnosed with PTSD, bi-polar and massive depression (depressed since the age of about 7). So I had enough; I contacted Cheryl that evening. Her response was the first breath of fresh air. She told me she would have me feeling a lot better by Christmas. The first treatment was Dec 17, 2023; she was right. My anxiety was noticeably lessened. Then, she took the time on Boxing Day for another session. So after 12 sessions, I feel like a new person. She knew exactly what I needed in each session! Cheryl quite literally saved my life. At the risk of sounding dramatic – Cheryl has changed my life when it comes to travel. I have had a fear of flying for as long as I can remember. As I have gotten older it has become more intense. Typically there is no excitement leading up to travel – I am a nervous wreck at the airport, my stomach is in knots, I can’t eat, and am teary-eyed and emotional. After listening to the fear of flying session – what a change. I was still a bit nervous but nowhere near what I normally am. I got on the plane and handled take off and landing with calmness surrounding me. Cheryl’s voice alone induced a feeling of relaxation. I was late to the game in managing the fear in advance of my last trip, but even with the limited amount of time I was able to listen to the session enough to bring me a more peaceful experience. I can only imagine if I had more prep time before!. Thank you Cheryl! I am actually excited to plan another trip!
Over the last 10 years, I have been unable to reduce my food intake, and have had a tremendous appetite. I didn’t think that I could be hypnotised and didn’t feel hypnotized when working with Cheryl. And then I started seeing results dash after one session! No cravings for chips, less desire for second servings, increased interest in drinking water. And yes, I have begin begun losing weight! I struggled with anxiety so bad that I couldn’t leave my house. Just putting out the bin was so frightening. After a few sessions with Cheryl, I have learned to manage my anxiety and literally throw it away. What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of altered awareness during which our subconscious mind is more open and receptive to suggestions that are given. We drift in and out of different levels of awareness throughout the day, absorbing information on the subliminal level as well as a conscious one. The levels of awareness range from a state of alertness to a sleep state. There's no rigid boundary setting of one level to the next; the levels blend into each other.
Is Hypnosis like sleeping?
No, however, you will be aware of everything that is happening and being said the entire time. You will be so deeply relaxed that you may find yourself drifting into different levels of awareness.
Are there any side effects from hypnosis?
There are only beneficial side effects of feeling more relaxed, healthier, better sleep, and on and on and on.. 15 minutes of hypnosis is equal to 4 hours of sound sleep.
Will I lose control when I am in hypnosis?
No - the client always has complete control. Hypnosis is not mind control. Hypnosis requires teamwork between the client and hypnotherapist.
Who can benefit from hypnotherapy?
Almost everyone can benefit from hypnotherapy.
I can’t be hypnotized.
Do you daydream? Have you ever driven somewhere but reached your destination without consciously knowing the route you took? This is a myth - everyone goes in and out of hypnosis daily. Your level of suggestibility/ responsiveness to hypnosis determines how your subconscious mind learns. Many people feel they can’t be hypnotized because the hypnotherapist isn’t speaking the right “language” to them.
